Red Letter Project (RLP)

Red Letter Project disrupts human trafficking operations in East Africa by working with government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in order to cultivate healthy societies where the evil of human trafficking can no longer prevail.

Sam's story

Names are changed to conceal the identities of victims and the heroes that serve these victims every day.

Red Letter Project's Vision

We approach the human trafficking problem in East Africa from a holistic perspective. To transform societies that are no longer susceptible to human trafficking, the social, political, and economic situations must change. As we are successful in one area with one initiative, the traffickers will change their tactics and adjust to our actions. To prevent their success in doing so, we must always be several steps ahead of them. In order to do this, we must work closely with community leaders, police, judiciary, build networks in the marketplaces with business owners, and be closely tied into and partnered with NGOs who are structured to serve the needs of trafficking victims. Additionally, RLP seeks to partner with organizations at the forefront of strategic innovation, bringing advancements in AI and complex problem solving to bear against crime, conflict, and poverty in the region. Close collaboration with all these players will ensure a unified effort across a large geographic area allowing RLP to outpace traffickers’ operations even across national borders.

Give Now to Red Letter Project

It takes an average of $116/mo to fully support one victim's tuition, food, materials for training, and room and board.  We pay the director of the organization we currently support about $220/mo and he is paid well per capita.

American donors can have a great impact in the lives of so many East Africans.

Will you consider partnering with us in our efforts to transform some of the world's most vulnerable societies and be part of the first 1,000 donors to make a commitment at $25/mo ($300/yr) for one year?

Red Letter Project Background

Red Letter Project was previously known by the name of the organization it supports in one East African country.  We have decided to rebrand to "Red Letter Project" to ensure the operational security of our teammates on the ground, the victims, and the mission going forward as it expands.  Red Letter Project will be able to share pictures and stories of the great work of our team while not compromising identities and the locations where the work is happening.

Another reason for this rebranding was to allow us the ability to expand in a regional effort to counter human trafficking.  We currently unilaterally fund and support a, now, undisclosed organization in a very impoverished region of an East African country.  We believe that we can have greater effects in countering human trafficking by expanding our reach and working closely with other governmental and non-governmental organizations. Collaboration is extremely important in this effort.

Previously, this project existed under another US-based organization.  That organization disbanded in the summer of 2024, and so Red Letter Leadership took the strategic management of the project under the 501(c)3 administrative oversight of a great organization by the name of Tying Vines, Inc.  Red Letter Project is now the name of Project 1910 under the 501(c)3 organization, Tying Vines.

Bottom line: Red Letter Leadership is committed to seeing the successful development of Red Letter Project to ensure the lives of God's children in East Africa will live in freedom and the evils of human trafficking will no longer be a threat to them.

RLP's partners are actively rescuing and supporting victims who experience nearly identical hardships into which these videos offer a powerful glimpse.
