Graham Cochrane

âJesus was a true ârebel.â Red Letter Leadership teaches how Jesus rebelled against the religious and cultural norms, and in doing so, redirected the course of humanity through His leadership. This book will inspire you to live and lead in the purpose for which you were created.â
Chaplain (Major General) William "Bill" Green
U.S. Army
âLeadership is the study of a lifetime. Red Letter Leadership highlights principles of leadership from a faith perspective that will make anyone a more effective leader. A great read for any student of leadership and certainly for leaders whose world view includes faith as a foundational element.â
Leadership is management?
In the late 20th Century, leadership and management resources were blended together as if the two topics were one in the same. Back then, most throughout the private and public sectors consider âleadersâ to be those serving in management positions. The focus of leadership development was on positions in management.
Leadership is influence.
In the 1990s, John Maxwell came on the scene and began to start separating the topic of leadership from management. Following nearly 100 books written, over 40 million sold, and training leaders in every country of the world, he is widely recognized as the #1 leadership expert in the world. He would testify to anyone who asked that all his leadership lessons came from the Bibleâthatâs why his books have helped peopleâs lives not just their management positions. Maxwell led the world to realize that âleadership is influence; nothing more, nothing less.â It is not relegated to position.
The Source of All Leadership
2,000 years ago, before Jesus ascended to heaven following His resurrection, in commissioned His disciples to âgo and make disciples.â He basically told them to continue the movement He started. He commanded them to lead. As His disciples made more disciples of Jesus, those new followers then fell under the same commission, âgo and make disciples.â So, today, we who call ourselves Christ-followers are under that same commission. If we are going to carry that commission out as we should each day of our lives, we are going to do it through our leadership.
Â
Red Letter Leadership provides hundreds of lessons in leadership so that we can model Christ in our homes, our workplaces, and our communities. This world needs more Christ-centered leaders. If you are not centering your leadership on the red letters, then I must ask, on whom or on what are you centering it?
Â
Jesus is âthe way, the truth, and the lifeâ (John 14:6). He is the source of leadership. If you have been taught leadership that doesnât completely align with who Jesus was and how He led, then you need to change. Whoever you lead or have influence over deserves your very best and God placed you right where you are to give your best. This book will help you deliver your best leadership.
Â
We believe that it is the most comprehensive study ever completed on the leadership of Jesus and in it are solutions to every leadership situation or conflict that any of us will face. Some lessons are redundant, like the emphasis on humility. But this book is not meant to captivate the reader, itâs meant to capture the readerâto provide the reader with the most thorough account on the leadership of Jesus.
