What Jesus Taught Jairus Could Change the Direction of Your Business or Ministry

Oct 29, 2025

In the bustling world of business and ministry, it’s easy to find yourself trapped in a cycle of doubt and limitations. However, if you take a moment to reflect on the story in Mark 5:21-43, you’ll discover that there’s a powerful message waiting to inspire you as a leader. “Don’t be afraid; just believe,” Jesus urges Jairus, whose heart is heavy with despair over his daughter’s death. In this poignant moment, Jesus demonstrates the essence of casting a vision that transcends what is visible and tangible.

Recently, with a counter trafficking mission I lead in East Africa, I’ve been reluctant to cast a big, strategic vision. Finances are tight and I’ve been worried that the mission won’t survive another year so why cast vision. I allowed fear and worry about the provision to dictate my actions as a leader. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit convicted me and told me that I must cast vision and have the faith that God will provide because one, that is the right way to handle the situation from a business and leadership perspective, but even more so, that is the faithful thing to do from the perspective that God is in control, He is the Provider, and He tells us time and again that we should not worry.

The experience has grown my faith stronger and has reduced my stress about the mission. We are working with our director on the ground in East Africa to cast strategic vision to have an even greater impact. We are moving forward expectant that God will provide and that we simply need to present ourselves worthy and ready to do His work and be His workmanship.

As you navigate your journey as a Christian business owner or ministry leader, remember that you are not meant to settle for less than God’s best for your life and your team. Just as Jesus saw the potential in Jairus and his daughter, you too have the divine power to envision something greater for your team. Leaders like you have the ability to inspire hope, even when the circumstances seem dire.

Take a moment to pause and ask yourself: What is your vision for your organization? Are you dreaming big enough? It’s time to cast a God-sized vision—a vision that may stretch the boundaries of your current reality but empowers you and your team to reach for the extraordinary.

Think about the unique strengths of each person on your team. Just as Jesus chose Peter, James, and John to witness the miracle, highlight the incredible gifts within your group. Point out where they can shine and grow, even against the backdrop of despair or doubt. It is in this place of collective strength that you can craft a vision that not only inspires but also transforms.

Now, envision what this audacious dream looks like. It may seem impossible at first, but with faith and determination, coupled with prayer and commitment, you can lead your team to achieve remarkable things. Embrace the unknown, and don't shy away from the challenges ahead. Let your faith be the driving force that propels you towards a future filled with possibilities.

As you step into this journey of casting vision, trust that God is with you every step of the way. He longs to accomplish His work through you and your team. So, don’t hold back—dream big, encourage your team, and watch how God transforms the impossible into the extraordinary. The world is waiting for your vision. Go out there and embrace it!
